Bodhi Khaya is operated by a core staff and one or two Work Exchange personnel. Local workers from Gansbaai come in daily to assist with cleaning, grounds and garden maintenance. Occasionally core staff positions become available. To be a member of staff at Bodhi Khaya is a unique opportunity to live and work in a very beautiful, peaceful environment, and meet interesting people. Mostly, it provides an opportunity for growing Awareness. Meditation practice is encouraged. CORE STAFF POSITIONS - full time: ADMINISTRATION/HOUSEKEEPING FACILITIES AND GROUNDS MAINTENANCE Core Staff must be willing to work at Bodhi Khaya for a trial period of three months before becoming a full-time employee. They are encouraged to participate in meditation practice. A position at the Retreat is a form of service - not an alternative career or a good source of income. WORK EXCHANGE POSITIONS [25 - 30 hours per week]: GENERAL ASSISTANTS: assisting with general repairs and grounds maintenance, gardening, staff transport, and weekend programme support.
